Failure to Pay Spousal Support: Willful failure to pay spousal
support is a class 1 misdemeanor. (ARS 25-511.01)
Failure to Pay Child Support: A person may be held in civil contempt
and incarcerated if s/he is more than 60 days behind in their current child support obligation. Ask an attorney about

Orders of Protection & Injunctions Against Harassment):
Orders of Protection are effective for one year. Modified Orders of Protection and Injunctions
Against Harassment are effective when they are served on the defendent. (ARS 11-455, 12-1809, 13-3602).

Adoption and Paternity: Having sexual
intercourse with the mother is notice to the alleged father of the pregnancy in adoption matters. (ARS 8-106.01F).
The alleged (putative) father must file with the Putative Father's registry at the Ariz. Dept. of Vital Records to fully preserve
his rights. If a father does not file paternity action to legally establish his paternity within 30 days after
he is served with a Notice to Adopt, a father cannot file a to establish his paterity rights as a way to prevent the child
from being adopted. (ARS 8-106G and I). If an alleged father fails to file a Notice of Claim of Paternity
with the Putative Father's registry at the Arizona Dept. of Vital Records or does not legally establish paternity, this is
a ground to terminate his parental rights if the child is put up for adoption. (ARS 8-533(b)(6)).
DNA Testing of Felons (ARS 12-116.01, 13-610,
41-2418, & 41-2419). After January 1, 2004, all convicted felons must submit to DNA testing.
